Do these in order. By the end of week one, you will have your accounts, your degree audit, your verification paper trail, and your first exam plan.

Day 2: Know Your Degree

45 min
Log into your school's student portal.
Pull up your degree audit or official degree requirements page.
Screenshot it or save the PDF. You will reference this all week.
Count how many general education credits you still need.

Day 3: Verify Before You Test

30 min
Open the standalone Verify Before You Test module.
Go to Transferology.org and search your school.
Check which CLEP exams your school accepts.
Email your academic advisor using the script in Chapter 7: "I'm considering CLEP exams for [specific courses]. Can you confirm which exams are accepted and how they apply to my degree?"
Do not schedule any exam until you have written confirmation.

Day 4: Pick Your First Exam

Review Chapter 4's starter exam recommendations.
Choose one exam your school definitely accepts, based on Day 3 verification.
Start the matching Modern States course for free.

Day 5: Build Your Study Plan

30 min
Review Chapter 8's study techniques: active recall and spaced repetition.
Set up Anki or your preferred flashcard tool.
Block 30-60 minutes of daily study time on your calendar.

Day 6: Map Your Full Path

45 min
Open the Credit Tracker.
Fill in your remaining general education requirements from Day 2.
Mark which ones have CLEP or DSST equivalents from Transferology.
Estimate your potential savings using Chapter 11's framework.
7

Day 7: Schedule Your First Exam

15 min
Go to clep.collegeboard.org and find a test center near you.
Pick a date 4-6 weeks out so you have time to study.
Use your Modern States voucher to cover the exam fee if approved.
Enter the exam date in your Credit Tracker.
